WASHINGTON, D.C. — The PREPARE Act (Preparing Regulators Effectively for a Post-Prohibition Adult Use Regulated Environment) was introduced by Congressman David Joyce (OH-14), Congressman Hakeem Jefferies (NY-8), and Congressman Brian Mast (FL-18), to propose the role of Federal regulatory agencies upon the legalization of cannabis. Executive Director of the National Cannabis Roundtable Saphira Galoob issued the following statement:
“As we contemplate Federal legalization, it is critical that we have input from the very agencies that will be involved in regulating our industry. The PREPARE Act provides a pathway for Federal agencies to set their expectations for cannabis businesses, so we are not left wondering what the impact policy changes will have on businesses and individual consumers. We applaud Congressman Joyce and Congressman Jefferies in leading this bill that commences the process of developing a thoughtful federal framework.” said Saphira Galoob, Executive Director National Cannabis Roundtable “Members of the National Cannabis Roundtable are eager to work with Federal agencies to determine what are best practices and policies for cannabis regulation, and we are grateful for Congressional leaders who recognize that cooperation among Federal agencies and private partners will build a stronger better cannabis industry.”
