NATIONAL CANNABIS ROUNDTABLE APPLAUDS REINTRODUCTION OF BIPARTISAN VETERANS EQUAL ACCESS ACT
Washington, D.C. – Today, the National Cannabis Roundtable (NCR) was on Capitol Hill as Representatives Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and Brian Mast (R-FL), co-chairs of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus, announced the reintroduction of the Veterans Equal Access Act in the 118th Congress. This bipartisan bill provides equal access to state-legal medical cannabis for veterans participating in their VA healthcare benefits, allowing VA medical providers to discuss medical cannabis and provide recommendations related to state-legal programs to their patients.
Saphira Galoob, Executive Director of the National Cannabis Roundtable, released the following statement:
“It is unconscionable to deny our veterans equal access to the full array of medical treatments and options that all other adults in the 37 states with medical cannabis programs have available. VA doctors must be allowed to discuss medical cannabis and provide recommendations on state-legal programs to the veterans they serve, and we thank Congressman Blumenauer and Congressman Mast for their dedication to moving this important measure forward in the 118th Congress. NCR was honored to be present for today’s announcement, and to support this much-needed, bipartisan bill.”
The National Cannabis Roundtable is an alliance of cannabis companies, as well as ancillary services and solutions providers, who seek cannabis reform that nurtures the nascent domestic industry, protects consumers, and advances social equity.
